We started the day at 8:15, before leaving, we went into the casino for breakfast.
First stop for the day was at Flying J’s in North Las Vegas. After crossing into Arizona, we changed our clock ahead one hour into Mountain Time Zone.
Next stop was another Flying J’s in Saint Gorge for more gas and Lunch.
We have passed I70 turn off, we passed a really bad accident and they were still working on a person. By the skid marks you could see that the SUV lost control of the trailer and rolled both.
About hour before our next gas stop. All of a sudden we had the driver rear inside duly explode. I pulled over to the shoulder quickly to check out the damage. Well I was not going to change the tire on the side that had traffic pass by so close, so I drove really really slow to the next off ramp and pulled in to the big parking area so we could work on it.
The damage: Flat Tire, Crushed box around the waste container (black tank), Generator not working, a sewer hose being an item that was crushed, part of the generator exhaust.
The next stop was at another Flying J’s in Nephi.
At a mile before out next gas stop; All of a sudden we had the passenger rear inside duly pop (it didn’t exploded – it just made a very loud pop noise). Again I pulled over really quickly to check the damage. The outside tire was ok, so we were only 1 mile away from our next gas stop and the next off ramp (I just passed one). So again on the shoulder driving very slowly all the way to the Flying J’s
We changed the tire and on a good note, we only had the tire damage, no damage to the RV.
After changing the tire and getting gas, we were on the road again.
As we were approaching the campground, I discovered that it is no longer there, but the kids really wanted to go to the Mayan restaurant. So I thought screw it and lets see how late they are open.
I pulled into a lot across the street that could accommodate me. I noticed a guy coming out of the business and I asked where I could get tires on a Sunday and where I could park for the night. He said not sure about the tires, but he stated that I could park in his lot for the night.
I moved the RV into auto repair lot and we walked across the street to got eat food.
I did setup the satellite dish. Cheryl did some searches for business that are open on Sundays so we could get two new tires. She found a 24-hour service, so I called and the guy came out to replace both tires.
We were about 3 hours delayed over both tires and very tired. I sure hope tomorrow will bring a better day!
