We left Valdez at 9:00 with our first stop at a gas station before heading out.
We got gas a little gas stop at Gakona Junction
We stopped for lunch in one of the pullouts along the way.
I got gas at Tok,
We stopped at the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and Amanda got a stamp for her Refuge book.
We went through the boarder without any issues, the lady asked a few questions and let us through.
I pulled into Beaver Creek and asked about the RV park and the lady said go to the RV park about 30 miles away, right after crossing the White River.
The roads from Tok to the campground are really bad. On the US side, the roads have a lot of frost heaves, while in Canada there are a lot of gravel surfaces, so that means a lot of rocks flying and dust – the RV is filthy.
Finally we arrived at the White River Crossing RV Park.
It took awhile for me to set up the satellite but finally I got it working. The next camper next to me asked a few questions about the setup. He asked about getting on, so I set the wifi to open so they could use the Internet. A little bit later another person noticed and asked so a few people are using it.
Amanda and Cheryl cooked dinner.
Mom and I started the laundry – we had to do 4 loads. Mom stayed to do the rest of the loads, while I came back and played on the computers.
The kids watched two movies tonight.
