We left on time and without any issues. We stopped at the office to receive the bill and all was good.
Gas at a Pilot, the gal was a little surprised about the amount then noticed the RV.
We stopped at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. Amanda got the Jr Ranger Program booklet and started working on it. We walked the grounds while Amanda filled in the necessary answers to the question in the booklet. This site is only about the boy hood while the site next to it is the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum (which we did not do and does cost). Amanda took a little over an hour to do the booklet, get her badge, and do her pledge.
We walked over a Mexican restaurant for a late lunch – we were the only patrons in the place.
The stop was a little over 2 ½ hours and we only planned an hour, so Amanda found another place for the night at a KOA on out of town on the west side of Des Moines
After setting up camp, we took the van into town to get a few things that was needed. And of course we stopped by DQ to get a few yum yums.
