We got and left at our normal time around 9:00. Amanda looked for our next stop and it was going to be in Indiana, with one stop along the way.
We still had the Street Atlas keep us away from the toll roads, so we took the more scenic way west.
Along the route we noticed people gathered, seating out by the road, like there was going to be some type of parade. I got onto the CB and ask and found out that behind us was a 9/11 tower beam traveling the same route. I made it through the small town and stopped at a McDonalds for lunch, after doing more research we found out the town we passed, that is where the beam was going to be for the weekend.
We ran into some rain along the way. Before stopping at the sand dunes visitor center, we noticed some flooding was occurring.
Again trying to avoid the toll roads, We traveled some interesting parts of the suburbs of Chicago.
We are camped at a casino for two nights. We plan on exploring tomorrow.
We went into the casino for dinner.
I called Mom M to find out what happen at the doctor’s and found out that she will be getting surgery after all on Tuesday so wish her luck.
