Dawgs New Years Weekend – Sunday

A good day playing in the mud hills, I was able to ride with somebody. And Amanda was able to ride also. We both took a lot of picture again today.

Tonight is the last night of 2006. We had fun around the campfire and seeing all the fireworks around camp.

The year was an ok year for me, but I need to get my butt in gear and get more things done. Lets see what happens…

Dawgs New Years Weekend – Saturday

Well another good day out playing in the mud hills. Like yesterday I was able to ride with somebody. Both kids got ride today so that was good. Not so sure about Eric. He seems that he doesn’t want to go – will see.

We did some very good noticing.

The major things that happened:
• Troubles getting the leaders Jeep started (twice – once in the morning and then again after lunch)
• Collapse banks to get the jeeps through (several times)
• One blown tire (tire came off the bead and he also sliced the tire in two places.) Help with a winch line, jack, tire plugs, and air all was fixed.
• Strap came out twice to get two jeeps un-turtled.

I had a great time. Of course the time around the fire is always enjoyable.

Dawgs New Years Weekend – Friday

Well, this whole weekend, I will not be driving my Jeep. The Jeep needs some TLC and some money spent on it to get it ready for the next major adventure.

Today the group decided to go to Coyote Canyon, This canyon, you can no longer go all the way through. The darn environmentalist has got the canyon closed to all motor travel. There is a section that stays closed all the time. The old timers remember being able to travel the canyon from top to bottom.

The canyon is very interesting. It does have running water all year in section of the canyon.

We were able to explore a canyon called Sheep Canyon. There were some palm trees so we went exploring. I think it is cool to see water out in the desert appear and then disappear.

Today was a good exploring day….

Last Working Day of the Year

Today was my last day at work for this year. I still didn’t get everything that I wanted to get done. At lunch time I took Eric to his orthodontist appointment to put spacers in

After work, it was time to get ready to head out to the desert. I talked to the neighbor before leaving and he gave me their tree and I found another tree next street over. I stuffed all four trees under the Jeep.

I took a little different route to get to Truckhaven area; I had to take different freeways because of accidents and constructions delays.

Once I made it to the area I found out that camp was moved because somebody took our normal location. I did not know about it until I called to find out where camp is located. Once I was pointed to the correct location, all was good.

Appointment Day

Today was going to be a work on things that I need to get done, but I forgot that I needed to take the kids to their dentist appointment.

I left work and took the kids to their appointment. Eric had the last two teeth removed necessary for his dental work. And Amanda had two fillings filled.

O man it was sure windy today. As I was driving to and from the appointment the wind sure was blowing me around, hopefully the wind will die down before we have to leave tomorrow. But the weather just stated that it will still be blowing so its going to be a stressful drive out.

I got all the laundry done. Cheryl’s new ice machine was producing ice that did not taste good, so I drained the water and filled it up with new water and now the ice taste better.

I thought I was done installing stuff on Eric new computer, but not so. I finally got the computer to read cd that I create – man what a pain!

The Day After – Christmas

I slept in today. Cheryl had to go to work, but I did not have to because work voted to have this day off as one of our two holidays we can vote for to have off.

Once I got up, I started to work on getting the house all cleaned up. I took down the tree. Now my front steps and looked liked it had snowed.

I took the kids over to the local bar for lunch – good food. After lunch we went to Staples to get some items (Paper, another ink cartage, and camera case for Amanda)

I worked on Eric’s computer getting it ready for him to work / play on. I worked on getting all three of our printers working correctly on the network.

Cheryl got home and both of us went to do our groceries shopping for this week and weekend.

I was able to get the dinning room and most of the living room cleaned up and back to somewhat normalcy.

We had boxed dinners.

I finally got caught up on my blogging. But now I am up WAY TO LATE to finish all my blogging for both web pages. And making sure the photos I am uploading via satellite is going ok.

Back to work for tomorrow – most likely a normal day!

Christmas Day

Well of course the kids woke use up. We did set a time at and right at that time 8:00 we were told to get up so we could do our gifts.

We open our gifts and had a fun time. Amanda had fun with my present and hid a tie in a very large gift bag (which had several other smaller and smaller bags). Eric was really excited about his new computer!

The kids fixed us breakfast after we open all the gifts. This is the first time Amanda made eggs over easy and she did very well!

Now we were enjoying our gifts until our next guest came over.

Jan and Larry came over so we could do our gift exchange and we had a good time talking about our next adventure / activities.

After Jan and Larry left we had to wrap the last set of gifts for this evenings festivities.

We headed on over to Uncle Marshall’s place up north from us to enjoy the Cates gathering.

That gather includes the following families:
May family – 4
Uncle Marshall family – 2
Tawny family – 4
Ted

Before dinner we also have to go up into the attic and check out Uncle Marshall train layout. It is amazing on how much work he puts into the layout. It is really cool!!!!

After dinner we did the gift.

A very interesting conversation came up about how family did the unwrapping of gifts. The Delps just hands out one at a time – opens the gifts then hands out the next. We (My family) hands out all the gifts out, put them in piles in front of each person and then the youngest goes first opens one and then it’s the next person to open and we go around the room that way. The Cates hands out all the gifts out and does it the same way. I personally like that we wait to see what each one has before we proceed with the next gift. I think that more enjoyable and not so self-centered.

Like usual, we are the last ones to leave. I always enjoy being with my Uncle.

I hold everybody had a good Christmas!!!

Christmas Eve

Well today is Sunday and it is Christmas Eve. This is when Cheryl’s family celebrates Christmas.

The whole family got up early and went to church. Cheryl has been going to a new church (Revolution) and it’s a little different then the totally traditional church. The church did have a good service, even though the video that they did was a little corny.

We stop by the house to get all the necessary items and gifts for today and tonight’s activities.

Once I dropped off the family at mom Delps house I needed to go and buy a new mattress. I braved the mall and went to sleeps by numbers place and got a new queen-size mattress, which will be delivered. The waterbed mattress has sprung a very very very slow leak.

It was nice to relax and enjoy the family for the holiday activities. We did the normal eat, enjoy the company, open presents, and have a good time. We had 22 people over.

The family groups consists of the following:
May Family of 4,
Now the Delp families:
Dan Family of 5,
Bob Family of 4,
Mom Delp and Boy Friend,
Ex-wife of Dan,
Ex-wife of Bob family of 6 (Mom, 3 kids, 2 grandkids)

It was so neat to relax and enjoy the whole Delp Family!

Fun Filled Saturday

Today we had two things on the itinerary.

First was to Square Dance at the benefit dance at the Cedar Brook Dance Center. The benefit was scheduled for Friday night, and three different sessions on Saturday. We picked the Saturday afternoon session to partake in the benefit.

We left before the end of the session and went to dinner at Hoffs Hut.

Next thing was to go find some Christmas lights to go see. I knew about DWP light display in Griffith Park, so off we went and enjoy the light display.
