Ortho Wednesday

This morning was quite; in fact I got up a little late (15 min)

Lunch was being served at work, buy Employee Resource Group – I only got the peach pie, after eating that, a buddy and I went over to Coffee Bean to get some hot chocolate.

I left work a little early to go pickup Eric for his ortho appointment.

I relaxed when I got home, I should have worked on the desk but, just read some of the blogs that I read.

I did call a friend of mine that is in the hospital because of clots in his lungs and legs.

Bad Tuesday Morning

Well the morning started off with Amanda not cooperating about getting up. Finally Cheryl got her ready, but when they got out to the car it had a flat tire. So now Cheryl was going to drive the Jeep, but the windshield wipers switch is broken (it had rained last night). By the time I was going to drive Amanda, she was not happy. So I had to get her into the Jeep and take her to school. At school I had to request assistance to make sure Amanda to attend school.

I returned home to put the spare tire onto the car and I took the flat tire to America’s Tire to get it fixed. I left the tire to be picked up later and went to work.

I came home for lunch and to talk about how we should handle Amanda.

Cheryl and Amanda spent about two hours after school at the tire place to get the fixed tire back on to the car.

When I came home I work on our closet and got the big pile of stuff out of closet and put things away – Now I can say the room is complete. We did talk about someway of getting the treadmill out of their and that would make that room very good looking.

After completing the bedroom, I started working on my desk. I am back to four piles again. Still a lot more to do!

Monday – Busy?

Well Amanda stayed home again – I am not very happy about that!

The building were I work is now officially AARP property. AARP has been leasing it for a long time, and in the last 4 months they finally purchased it! So the supposed cloud of AARP dumping Lakewood is now gone. I have been there for a while, but never worried about it!

So for lunch AARP provided lunch after the ribbon cutting celebration.

When I got home from work, I immediately started working our bedroom and the laundry. I finished the laundry and put away all the clothes. Our bedroom now looks good and everything has its place – it looks nice.

Now I need to work on my desk again.

Finally Delivered - Meeting

Cheryl and the kids went to church with Lisa while I wait for the phone call.

Well I got a phone call to tell me that they should be able to get bedroom set delivered today. After a few more calls the bed should be able to be delivered around 1 to 3 today.

I took my electric scooter to meet the rest of the family at Denny’s for lunch. Denny’s was really slow on getting our food to use. We found out that a cook called in sick so they were under staffed. After lunch, I head back using the scooter.

The guys showed up finally and I helped getting the set all setup.

By the time I finished with most of my putting things away, it was time to head to the High Desert Roundup Meeting (CA4WDC Event) / CA4WDC 2009 Convention Meeting. We were late by 15 minutes. But they did wait for us.

After the meeting, we went to Fry’s to get a power strip and a few other things.

Once getting home, I continued to put things away and now the room is mostly returned back to normal, except with the new bedroom set.

Delivery???

After sleeping in a little bit, I move the bed to the side, and got the room ready for the new bedroom set; While Cheryl and Amanda did their nail thingy today.

Did the normal house picking up and cleaning of the house.

After several phone calls, the bedroom set didn’t get delivered – not sure what caused the driver to notify the store or me, but the outcome is no new bedroom set!

I also started on the laundry. I didn’t start it, until late, because I was waiting for the bedroom set, o well, Now I need to remake the bed so we can go to sleep.

Friday – Friends Over

Well Amanda again did not want to go to school because of some type of not feeling good. I not sure what we can do, but want to take some privileges or pleasures away from her. So – No computer for the day and no TV – she need to relax, read, and/or sleep. I not sure if taking money was agreed on with Cheryl and I, will see.

I called to check on the trailer tire, and all is ok to pick up.

Lunch, I picked up the spare tire for the trailer – it was completed. They got the sensor replaced and all is ok. A friend came with me and we went to Fridays.

I called about the status of the bedroom set. Well it ready so I set up a schedule to have it delivered and setup for Saturday in the afternoon.

Cheryl took the kids over to Subway for diner. Friends came over while Cheryl was out. Us adults when to TGIF for dinner and we talked for a long time.

Thursday – GPS work

Lunch at Z-Pizza – Meatball Sandwich again with two friends.

I had to work on the GPS items for HDR. I need to get the route for the trails that we will be doing for the event. I had the Devils Loop from 2001; I also was able to find my Blue Moon Run and Southern lights from 2005. I forward that info to the run dude and the Dirt Devil Prez.

Other wise, the evening was relaxing.

Play Night

Lunch was with a buddy, we went to Quizno’s and then walked through Wal-Mart

Cheryl got home late from work. So I had to drive like a mad man to get to the Play tonight at the Glendale Centre Theatre to watch My Fair Lady. We all had a good time enjoying the play.

Of course we get home late, so off to bed we all went….

Relaxing Tuesday

For lunch, I came home and took a quick nap, because I need to be back early.

I got home later then normal, and Cheryl had already picked up Amanda and went grocery shopping.

We finally got Amanda report card. She got a 3.57 so not bad at all.

I think my laptop is dead; it keeps rebooting about 2 min after starting up. I am not even sure if I can get the remaining data off the laptop.

O I survived the RV and the bed. My back did not hurt from the weekend on the RV bed – I am glad I am not in pain…

A Monday

The kids and Cheryl did not have to go, but I went to work.

Lunch I went to Denny’s with a friend.

Took a break today. Read emails and relaxing… Nothing really exciting.

Driving Home Day

I tried to sleep in today but, like usual, I am not able to in the RV.

I got up took a shower and started the putting things away, getting the RV ready to head out onto the road. After most of the inside was done, I still needed to go into the CA4WDC Convention and obtain my raffle prizes.

Yes I won two raffle prizes. One 2L bottle of wine and a $100 gift cert from Parts Mike. After picking up the wine, I headed on over to Park Mike booth, and ordered what I been thinking of getting for a long time. I order a front def cover.

I got back to the RV, and did all the tasks on the outside – take down the flag pool, drain the tanks, put things away, and take the front cover off.

I moved and then waited for my guest to finish what they had to do before heading down the road.

I decided (with some coaching) that I was going home via 395. We left at about noon.

What a pretty drive down 395. We had two snow flurries going down the highway, one was very small (couldn’t hardly tell it was snow), and the other was very noticeable, but was melting as soon it was hitting the ground or RV.

I got home about 10:30 and did some unpacking. Now I need to finish it the next night.

Meeting and Diner Day at CA4WDC

Well, I got up early to be able to go to the Life Member breakfast. At breakfast we had to vote for the best persons for the three scholarships out of eight applicants.

Next was the all day meeting. I voted for the four things the Dirt Devils wanted me to vote for and I was able to vote for three additional items that came up during the meeting.

One thing that strikes me was that a BLM guy stated that we have all these acts for all other types of things, but no Recreational Act for public lands.

That word – Recreational – can be taken several ways. The land and water closing people would say hiking is recreational or even worse – just watching from the outside or on TV is recreational!, but for the rest of the people I would think of the following type of hobbies: water activities, bike riding, off roading, horse riding, flying and many more – All activities that would involve use of the lands and water for our recreation!

After the meeting I was invited to a gathering before dinner. A lot of good people to hang out with before dinner!

During the dinner (banquette), I was feeling good, so the time past by really fast, the awards were given out and then the dinner was over. A very small group stayed later to play some train before we all head back to our beds…

Finished Driving and Now Playing?

I was still driving at midnight heading to Reno. I finally made it to Reno at 5:30 in the morning, yes – that is a twelve hour drive that I did.

I tried to sleep but every noise, I kept getting woke up. The work blackberry, then the phone, then I just could not go to sleep.

I got up and went and paid my bill for the stays here at the KOA. While heading on over to the office, I noticed all around us on the hills was a lot of snow.

After relaxing, I headed on into the Hotel to look around at the CA4WDC convention.

The convention officially does not start until 2:00 pm so I went the Chevy’s to get some lunch.

After looking around the vendor area, I got an item for my flag pole that will allow the flag to rotate but not allow the bottom part of the flag to rise up on off of the pole.

I did take some pictures of the vendor area. (see the other blog for pics)

After finished uploaded the pictures from the vendor show, I headed back into the convention to see what else is going on, and what type of activities I could participate in. By this time it was dinner time. So a group of us went to Johnny Rockets.

After dinner it was time to enjoy the evening in the Hospitality Room.

After about an hour, I was starting to get really tired, so I started back to the RV, but I got distracted for about 10 minutes watching people hit golf balls into the water.

DRIVE

Lunch was with some friends over at the bar.

After work I finished putting things into the RV and headed out at 5:30 to go pickup some friends before heading to Reno.

Valentine Day (Sweetheart Day)

Lunch was with a buddy at crazy chicken.

When I came home before Cheryl arrived I was taking a quick powernap, before I got woke up by a phone call about plans for this weekend.

When Cheryl came home we headed on over to the Long Beach Town Center for dinner at Charo’s Peruvian Cuisine which we like to go every so often. My mom called during dinner to say happy Valentine Day

We cleaned the RV after we returned and I got ready for the weekend.

Day Before Sweetheart Day

Lunch was at the bar and I treated my body lunch because it is his b-day

After work, I headed on over to the florist near me to get Cheryl some flowers. I had a terrible time trying to park, without hitting anything (poles or cars). I got her three red roses with a small teddy bear in a vase, with an anniversary balloon. I left the goodies in the jeep for later placement into her car.

I finished making backup copies of Amanda’s CD, so now she won’t be scratching her original versions.

I also finished putting all the laundry away. Now I need to finish the cleanup of the RV and then my desk. – Never ending…

Monday – Another Meeting

The kids stayed home because it was a day off for them, but we had to go to work.

Lunch was at Quizno.

When Cheryl and I got home from work we got the family together and head on out to the SCADs meeting. It’s the square dance area association that the Croakers belong to.

We got home about 10:00 and the family headed on to bed. I did backup a few more CD for Amanda before I headed off to bed.

Relaxing Sunday with Morning Rain

Yes this morning we had rain. The whole family slept in today. Eric was sick all night, something was bothering him, but in the morning he is ok…

Today I completed the laundry, now I need to put it all away…

We watched all four of the Netflix that we had.

Most of the evening I was making backup copies of Amanda CD. Some of her CDs are getting scratches and I think it would be wise if she use a backup (copy) version so that the original stays good.

California State Square Dance Council Meeting

Today we got up and left the house a little late for the California State Square Dance Council Meeting in Riverside. Meeting are meetings, we did say our part for the youth status.

During lunch we went to an oriental buffet with some friends.

We then return to finish the council meeting. After that meeting was another meeting – The 2008 State Festival Meeting - http://www.castate2008.org/

After the meeting we went to dinner at IHOP with a friend and enjoyed the evening talking.

Return home and watched a movie on TV and relaxed playing on the computer.

Friday – 2007 State Square Dance Convention Meeting

Amanda stayed home again because of her chest pains.

I came home for lunch and tried to take a quick nap, but I didn’t get the ‘power nap’, but I was refreshed.

Cheryl made an appointment for Amanda and took her. Amanda has basically what’s called “Growing Pains” (costochondritis)

Since Cheryl was already home when I got home, I was able to take the car to Riverside with Shirley and Tom. The drive out there took 2 ½ hours to go 62 miles.

At the California State Square Dance Convention 2007 meeting the Youth report was the last report to be given and there was no time left because another meeting supposed to start already. But we did get all the info out and was able to answer questions. After the meeting I was able to ask a few more questions and get more information.

Party – Cool

Amanda stayed home today with chest type pains. But it is sure weird that she only complains about it in the morning trying to get her to get ready for school.

Lunch was a trip to Arby’s and then to Circuit City. At Circuit City J.M. wanted to turn off his internet on his phone, but found out he was using it more then he thought. I ask about getting a new Palm PDA Phone that was TriMode, but there are no models that fit those requirements, so I will keep mine as long as possible – maybe I will get a new phone after vacation this year.

I was invited to a gathering / part at a co-workers place. Cheryl was not able to go, so I went by myself. I had a good time at the party, I enjoyed the camaraderie.

I got home about 9:30 and did a few minor things and headed for bed.

Normal Wednesday?

Lunch with a buddy at ZPizza – Meet Ball sub was good.

During the day I got a call from Amanda’s phone and it was our mail lady saying she found the phone – how nice….

After work, I relaxed. Worked on the Google reader some more. And still didn’t touch the stack of paper that is left.

Amanda did complain about chest type of pain but it was only in the middle of the chest and not radiating any where else. I swear that she is just falling apart.

Tuesdays – Dirt Devils Meeting Night

I had Lunch with two other buddies at Pino Pizza.

After work, I waited for Cheryl to get home before leaving to go to the Dirt Devils meeting. Nobody else wanted to go, so I had to go by myself – bummers.

This meeting stretched on longer then normal because the club needs to tell me, as a delegate, what they wanted me to vote for in the CA4WDC convention meeting. There are currently four items that I have instruction to vote on. So I will do my duty when its time.

After the meeting, we did our normal thing of hanging around and talking, but also a group was trying to get things ready / organized for the annual Moab trip. I was giving my two cent even though I will not be able to go but for two days and only as a passenger. (I will be returning from Witicha, so I can be a passenger).

On the way home, I talked to my mom, the first phone battery died within 8 minutes of talking, but the second battery that I had, lasted over 45 min. (The only way I can get the phone to last that long is if I use the earpiece). The drive home was extremely foggy – I had to slow down (I know – wow, he slowed down)

The Monday Grind

Lunch was at Carl’s Jr but the one by American Tire. Because I had to take the flat trailer tire down to get a new tire. I should get it Wednesday or Thursday.

Back at home, we still did not finish the RV, but I think it will slip until this weekend.

Mom came over to get my paper work for Wichita and then Cheryl and I went to Macy’s to use up the gift cards. Cheryl got some stuff for her and Amanda. We then had to walk up the escalators (because they were not working) to get a new bed sheets set. They did not have the BIG bath towels (bath sheets), so we still have some money left on the card for later use (to get those big towels.)

Looked at Eric report card. He is doing well, but he could get better, He got one ‘C’, which could be an ‘A’, if he would just slow down and concentrate. (He even admitted that he could do better)

Darn, when I am looking at my desk, it is starting again, even when I have not totally finished with all the stacks of papers. I will work on it again on Wednesday.

Del Mar – Home – Class

Well, I woke up to noises from the outside from the RV. Diesel noise, sweeping machine, and music from somebody near by. I took a shower and then took the dogs for their morning walk.

When I return back to the RV after the walk, I noticed that the rear passenger side trailer tire was flat. O GREAT. So for the next hour I changed the trailer tire. Most of the time was spent trying to get the flat tire and then the good tire to register on the Smarttire system. The tire had a big slice on the inside so I have no idea how that could have happen.

Cheryl left to go get lunch. Once Cheryl was back, I went in, ate lunch, and relaxed before breaking down camp.

During this whole time, there were four semis unloading some type of motorbike. The front looked like a small car but with handlebars, but with only one back wheel. See my other blog for photos.

Once on the way, I did stop at the rest area to dump the tanks, and then onto home.

Once at home, we got things mostly put away. And then it was time for Cheryl and I to head out for our Round Dance class. I finally learned how to do a ‘fish tail’ (a two step move.) And because we were at the Round Dance class, I only watched maybe five minutes of the Supper Bowl.

Square Dance Day at Del Mar - Saturday

I was going to do some round dancing in the morning, but the session was going to induce you to round dancing and I have already been doing some round dancing, so I headed back to the RV.

For lunch the whole group went out to dell place and good food and good service.

We danced some more before dinner. The group went out again for dinner. We had made reservations at Chevy’s. Again good food and a fun time – we had 13 people this time.

After dinner get dressed in our evening outfits and go dance. Cheryl and I did square dance and some round dancing. But man, I am not that good yet on the round dancing.

Eric fell asleep on the chairs in the Plus Hall so Cheryl took him back to the RV. Amanda and I stayed and she danced at the after party until midnight. She had a partner, so I was not able to dance. Of course I really didn’t try to find a partner, my feet was tired.

Friday – Del Mar on my way

Lunch I went home and was able to take a nap.

I did not get out of work until 6:00, so we got a late start. Well, it took our normal 2 hours to leave. The drive down to Del Mar was without any problems, the traffic was flowing good, and we did stop of dinner at a Dairy Queen. But getting the RV in and out was not easy. We got into the parking area of Del Mar about 10:30 and it took me about 45 min to finally get the satellite complete setup and working. We also got visited by some good friends. Now it is late and we have a lot of square dancing to do tomorrow.

Found Something New

Lunch was at Quizno again and then Hot Chocolate at the bean.

When I got home Cheryl was already home and that is very early for Cheryl. When I started working on the computer, I found something that I like. I finally found something that will tell me in one location of all the blogs / news from sites that I like looking at for information. Google Reader makes it really nice. No I am up late reading….
