Wet Wednesday

Lunch was at the bar. After lunch I went to Wal-Mart and got some envelops. The rain did stayed away.

When I got home I started work on my desk again.

When Cheryl got home she said a white dog was astray. Three different times, I helped to get the two dogs back into their back yard. The dogs where visiting and didn’t like that their owner was not home.

I have reduced one of my stacks of paper. I still have not done any more research about Linux and Windows to be able to talk to each other.

Wet Tuesday

Lunch at Quizno but after I went home to put the dogs in out of the rain.

After Cheryl came home, Amanda and I went to the store to do some minor shopping, that’s if you call $250 later to be minor shopping and the basket wasn’t even full. As we where paying one of the employee found out she needed a jump – dead battery. I said I most likely have jumpers in the Prius. Sure enough I did and we where able to get her car started.

Worked on the desk some more. Now I am down to three stacks.

Another Monday – hmmmm

Amanda was not feeling good, so Cheryl stayed home and made a doctor appointment for Amanda. All is ok, but she will need to change a few minor things so she can stop her stomachache and getting MORE sleep!

Lunch at Dales Dinner – Good omelet.

Return from work, continued with the laundry and completed that. Worked on my desk some more. Got my stacks of papers down to a smaller size. And my desk is starting look more like a desk. – Still have four stacks, but they are neat…

Talked to my mom for about an hour tonight.

O and IF you have been following this blog, my back if finally feeling better, the last couple of days. I changed my setting on the ‘sleeps by number’ bed to a 40.- Cheryl is still at 35. One really interesting thing about the numbers is we have to be on the bed to get that number, but when we are off of them, then the number is a lot lower.

Laundry, Movie, Class, and Party

Today was a somewhat easygoing day. I started working on the laundry. We watched the last move left of the four we had from Netflix. The kids where picked up by Dan to go to James surprise birthday party. Then we left for our Round Dance class. After class we headed on over to the party. Back at home, I continued with the laundry.

Square Dance Class – Blast Class

Today was the first class of the Blast Class series. We had 3 new people. This is extremely low turnout. But we will continue with the remaining classes.

After the class a group of us went to Sizzler to have dinner.

Tonight I will work on cleaning my desk, work on the Linux machine, and watch a movie from Netflix - Braveheart

Friday – Normal?

Lunch at an oriental buffet.

Worked on the Linux machine again most of the night. I did get the printer driver stuff to finally be installed with the help from Cheryl and her limited knowledge of Linux (her words). The command that I had to use to get the printer driver installed was “sudo su –“ and that gave me super user.

I searched most of the evening/night on why BOINC will not talk from my XP machine to the Linux machine and how to fix it.

Learning by fire

Lunch was out to Thi Corner.

When I got home from work, I started working on the Linux machine. I still have not got it to find the computer on the network, nor have I got my main computer to talk to the Linux machine. Trying to learn or search for the answer has not been easy. I guess I have a lot of learning to do. (Nothing like learning by fire)

During all the Linux learning, I did go out. The cats where totally out of food, so off to the store and back (this time I got nothing but the cat food).

Working On Computers

Ok, I will stop talking about going to work. I will just comment about not going to work if I am sick (which I did not do anytime last year).

Lunch was off to crazy chicken…

After work, I almost forgot about getting Amanda to the Orthodontist. I got the usual reminder from my PDA and so off we go to get to her appointment.

I installed another train game onto Eric machine.

Tonight was able to get mom’s old machine running Ubuntu (linux). I did the first set of updates and played with it. I finally found how to run the Boinc program. But I have not found an easy way to get my main computer to read (get information) from the linux machine yet. Now I have it updating to the next version - so that will take awhile.

Time Flies

Went to work… (like normal) Lunch at Quiznos.

After work, I started to work on one of the old computers (Eric’s old one) and see if I can clean it up and look at the old drive to see if I need to clean or keep. Well I got his old computer up and running, but I started to work on Eric’s new computer. I installed Train Simulator and got HOOKED playing that darn thing until 1 in the morning. WOW how times flies.

Running Around

Went to work like normal. Told my buddy no lunch today.

At lunchtime I had to go pickup Amanda from school and take her to her doctor appointment to remove her cast and then go to another location to get x-ray and then back to get the x-ray read. All looks ok. After doing that entire running around I just stayed home.

On the way home Amanda was trying to get her phone to come back on.

Took a nap

Finally Amanda said that her phone does not work, so off to the store to get it replaced under warranty.

What a day, running around town. And people wonder why we cannot do without cars.

Dance & Meeting

This morning my back is hurting again. O well got to keep going on.

First thing to do was go to the Croakers monthly square dance. We had two squares dancing before we left to go to our next commitment. We had three people visit the club to find out more about square dancing – they found out about the club through a MySpace.com account that had some info. They are doing research for the entertainment industry. We even had them learn to square dance and they seem to have fun – The video on my other blog shows them dancing (jemcam.blogspot.com). It will be very interesting if they contact us and continue the learning and hopefully portray square dancing in a GOOD light

After leaving the dance early it was time to head for our next commitment – Wrap up for Panamint Valley Days (PVD) and kick off meeting for Hi Desert Roundup (HDR). Trying to find the location was not easy. I was following the car GPS and it took us about a mile past the location. After a few phone calls and guidance we finally found the location. The meeting was good and things are going ok for the first meeting.

Holiday Party

I slept in but the morning was mostly catnapping. After eating breakfast / lunch we did necessary paperwork and some running around.

Cheryl and I left to go to the Dirt Devils Holiday Party. I think this was our smallest holiday part that the club has done. We did very well in the raffle this year and our white elephant gift was ok this year.

Friday – Waiting For Weekend

Like normal – go to work. For lunch I went home, eat lunch, and took a 30-minute nap.

When I got home after work, we had 4 netflix movies waiting for us. We watched two of them – The last two CD in the series of Invasion.

For the last couple of days I thinking my back problems where starting to go away, I turn the bed up to 40 about two nights ago.

Unpleasant Surprise

Off to work like normal. After a few meeting, Cheryl called to tell me about her appointment at the dentist.

Lunch I was going to go to a Thai restaurant but they had a note stating that they were closed, so we opted to go to the bar.

Sometime during the day I got a phone call from Cheryl stating that she got into an accident with the car. The car has some “minor” damage to the front driver side. When she first looked over the damage, she said there where none and got no information from the driver that hit her. So now if we want to get the car fixed we will have to pay for it all out of our pocket – so most likely we will not get the car fixed.

Today I stayed late to work on my timesheets and almost finish our shelf evaluation (review) for 2006. I didn’t get home until 9:00 pm.

Coming home late, I made up my mind that I was going to relax the mind and head to bed.

Just another day

Well the title doesn’t make this day interesting…

Went to work like normal…. Lunch, well I went and paid the water bill, then went to Arbys for lunch and then looked at how much a new keyboard would be to replace my old natural keyboard. To replace my keyboard and get a like one, it about $70 – dam they have not come down on price.

After work hmmmm

I worked on the computer trying to organize my bookmarks. I have about three of the same links in different folders – so it was time to cleanup the bookmarks. I also called my mom and talked to her for about 2 hours while I was working on the bookmarks. I still have not completely finished cleaning / working on the bookmarks.

Tuesday - ? Day

Went to work like usual. Lunch – went to Pino Pizza for a ham and cheese sandwich.

After work I came home to the internet being down. The Verizon part looked ok according to the modem diagnostic page, but when trying to connect to Earthlink servers, that is where the problem is located.

I did put away all the laundry that I did over the weekend.

Cheryl wanted me to go to the grocery store with her. Seems like every time we go to the grocery store, I always get about $50 worth of blueberries and raspberries and this was no exception. (About $5 per container). The berries are my healthy snake items.

After returning back from the grocery store, the internet was good, no problems.

Holiday Monday

Today is a holiday and we needed to do a few errands. Got the back door (still need to put it in), got a new smoke detector, and a few other things.

We did watched all four NetFlix CD that we have had for awhile (Two “Invasion”, “Babylon 5: Season 5: Disc 6”, and “The Story of Us”)

Good relaxing day to end a three day weekend.

Dancing then Work?

Well the day was a relaxing day.

When it was time to go to Round Dance Class, Amanda all of sudden told us that her ankle is hurting and didn’t want to go to class. So just Cheryl and I went.

After Class I had to go into work and help in the validation of the new Mainframe that was implemented today. Also was ok. I got home about 11:30.

And my back is still hurting. (One of these days my back should get better.)

Party Night – Surprise!

During the day we did things around the house (cleanup stuff – nothing major). I did most of the laundry – the rest will be done Sunday.

Cheryl went shopping for Yvonne.

The Surprise Birthday Party was fun.

Friday before the long weekend – hurray

This morning I woke up to back pains again. Dam, I wish this back pain just go away.

Lunch, I went to Russell’s.

After work, head home and work on the computer.

I needed to go deposit a check and when I got to the ATM, there was a bus that could not start. After making the deposit, I went home and took the Jeep over, but the bus would still not start. That guy has a long night before him in the COLD.

Relaxing Evening

This time my back was not feeling bad in the morning; I did not start getting pains until later in the day.

Lunch was Quizno’s. We had a guy come over to our table and started to entertain us with some jokes, card trick, and very very good slight of hand trick. The husband and wife is a very interesting missionary couple. It was a very fun lunch.

After work, it turned out that tonight was a relaxing evening. I did talk to my mom for about an hour, it always seems we talk for long periods of time.

Man its looks like it’s going to be COLD tonight and stay cold tomorrow – I think its going to be a sweater day tomorrow.

Play Night

Dam back – I am still in pain. (I know I keep complaining)

Normal as can be for work. For lunch I cam home and after eating I took a good 20 min nap.

After work we headed off for the play. We went to the Glendale Centre Theatre and watched ‘The Nerd’. We all had a good time and laughed a lot. The ending was a surprise to all of us.

Another Day Cleaning Desk

Today I still have the back pains.

When I got done with my shower, Marble was leaving us a present. She is starting to make me nerves about her well-being, that is not like her to that in the house.

Went to work, but Amanda stayed home sick.

After work, I started working on my desk again. Now I have some organized stacks of paper.

My mom called on her way home from her Square Dance meeting. And when she got off the phone she said the rain had snow in it so she wanted to concentrate more on her driving.

Another night on a computer

I did the usually work thing. Lunch was with a buddy at EPL (crazy chicken).

After work, I worked on my desk some more, but when Cheryl got home I took mom’s new machine over to her place. I took the old hard drives out of the old machine and put them into the new machine. Now she has two DVD drive and three hard drives in her new machine. I finished the remaining items to install; she did not bring CD’s over when I started to work on her new machine.

Now it time for bed – I am tried and my back is still in pain.

Quick Weekend – To Much Money

Man did this weekend seem to fly by.

I am still having back pains in the afternoon. In the morning I am fine, but by the time we go to bed, my back is really hurting.

Cheryl worked on mom and Lisa machine trying get them both installed with stuff.

Cheryl really wanted us go get the pedestal bed (with drawers), so we went shopping. We went to about 11 different locations asking about. Several of them did not have anything. On of them wanted 4 thousand for the complete headboard, side units and pedestal. We went back to another store and ordered a custom made one, as well as a new headboard and side units. But man it was still expensive a little over $2800. (Dam, that’s going to take awhile to pay off). Now we wait about four to six weeks for delivery.

The kids watched some type of Japanese cartoon movies, and of course it got my attention.

After the kids went to bed I started to cleanup my desk – but I still have a long ways to go.

Saturday – Friends Over

This morning I woke up still with a backache.

This morning I needed to continue the upload of photos for the Dawgs site. I had to buy a IDE card for the computer so I can add the IDE drives.

I got started working on Mom’s new computer getting it ready for her.

In the afternoon, we had friends over. First was Lisa, She wanted us to help fix her computer problems. The second friends (Jan and Larry) came over and we all went to dinner. We had a great time talking about the general stuff.

After Jan and Larry left I started working on finishing the Dawgs pictures with thumbnail web page.

Friday – First week of the year

This morning I got up, and my back is still hurting but the temperature setting was better – I didn’t broil

We finished the problem that we had at work and on with our normal work.

Today I went to lunch at the golf course clubhouse. Man it was cold when I walked over for lunch.

Tonight I worked on the video of new years and should have that on my other blog sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Thursday – Hump day?

The bed was ok but the verdict is still out.

Another day at work, its Thursday, but it the middle day of the workday so name would be hump day.

I did come home for work for lunch, took a short nap and return to work. We had to continue to fix a production problem.

When I got home, I started on working on the laundry (from the RV).

We started looking for a bed platform with a bookcase style headboard. I think one sold by Target is the one we will get, but still looking.

I am still uploading picture to the Dawgs server but my upload speed is slow, but what do you expect when you are trying to upload over 4gig of pictures and video.

First day at word for this year

Well, back to work.

Our first night on the Sleeps by Number bed was ok. I had the heating mattress on two high it was set at 3; tonight I will set it to low.

My back it still hearting. It started hearting sometime over the weekend. I am not sure if it is the bed in the RV or all the activities that I did.

I didn’t have lunch today, because I needed to take Eric to the Orthodontics to get his braces put on. Afterward, I return to work.

Hopefully tonight I will get a better night sleep.

Day off from work – Day of Mourning

Well work gave all their employees the day for mourning for Past President Ford.

I made use of the day to get extra sleep. The kids and I got the RV cleaned out.

Our new bed came today, so I drained the waterbed and Amanda helped to remove the wood. The plywood and the base have termite damage so all of it must go.

I got the new bed made before I needed to go to the Dirt Devils Meeting.

New Year Day

Today is the travel day heading home. We had a good time out at Truckhaven and always like going there.

I took my time breaking down camp before heading home. I went ahead and deiced to dump the tanks at Flying J, get gas, and get propane. Also we then went next to Flying J to Little Sitters to get the RV, Jeep and Trailer washed. Now they all look good. It took a little longer then I thought but the RV really needed.

We stopped for dinner and got home in the dark.

We made a decision to not clean the RV out until tomorrow because it was late, and I had the day off.
