2007/07/13 – Friday – Driving and Fishing

We left camp at 8:45. We had to stop at the boarding crossing into Canada and the lady asked a few questions and we were allowed to head on into Canada.

We stopped in Stewart for gas.

The climb out of Stewart was not bad like I thought it was going to be based on the drive down.

I turned south at the intersection back onto the Cassiar.

When we reached the end of the Cassiar, I turn east and headed onto the Yellowhead Highway.

About 7 miles before Smithers, we stopped at Adams Igloo Wildlife Museum, but when we approached the door it was locked and the grounds did not look like the advertisements, so we got back in to the RV and continued.

We stopped in Smithers for gas and a quick trip into the grocery store.

I then wanted to find the RV wash that we say for advertisements, but when we found it, it was a self wash and I didn’t want to do it, so we looked for another place for lunch, I found a turn out and we had lunch.

This section of the road had some big climbs – at a few points I was down to 25 mph climbing the hills. I was sure watching the tranny temp.

We stopped in Houston to look at the World’s Largest Fly Fishing Rod. Also in the same area, there was a dog park, so the dogs got a good chance to run and play.

We are stopped in Vanderhoof at Dave’s RV Park for the nice place. I did setup the satellite because the park charges for Internet.

Amanda cooked dinner tonight, It started to rain on us during dinner.

The kids watched two different movies – Quest for Camelot, Thief and the Cobbler. We also watched the DVD about Fish Creek and Salmon Glacier

The kids also worked on schoolwork.
